If your income is under $20, 016 as a single or $24, 542 as a couple, you are eligible for PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled).
Application forms can be picked up at your drug store. If you are eligible for PAAD, you pay only $5.00 per prescription and are also eligible for Lifeline, $225 off of your gas and electric bill (once a year) thru PAAD. There is also a Senior Gold program for singles with an income of $30, 016 or couples at $34, 542.

Retired volunteers will do minor plumbing such as repairing leaking faucets, replacing washer hoses, minor electric - replacing two pronged outlets with three-pronged ones, weatherization such as seasonal changes of screens and storm windows, air conditioner installation of limited sizes, install grab bars in the bath area, etc. There is no charge for labor. No outdoor work. You only pay the cost of materials, labor is free.

The Paramus Senior Citizen Van will take you to Shop Rite, Monday through Friday, and / or Paramus Park on Thursdays. Prior to Shop Rite you can be given time at the Bergen Mall.
