To provide seventh & eighth grade students with a program that helps them develop a sense of community, prayer, and Christian outreach in preparation of reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation.

All eighth grade children of the parish who have completed 8 years of religious education.
Confirmation preparation begins in the seventh grade, with service and commitment. Immediate preparation begins in February of eighth grade.

To provide an opportunity for eighth grade children of the parish to understand the importance and significance of what they are to celebrate.

Immediate preparation for Confirmation begins for all eighth students of the parish with weekly classes from Feb. thru April, and a full day retreat.

Catechists put in one hour and a half per week of classroom time, plus advance preparation at home, about one hour. Catechists need to attend basic workshop offered at the church by the DRE.
There is one general meeting in September that all catechists need to attend.
Catechists may be asked to help with some student service projects.

Catechists need a good sense of faith and a willingness to share it, prayerfulness, love of children, patience and an ability to set boundaries.
