Provide support for children who live in a single - parent families and who grieve the loss of a parent through death or divorce.

When / How Ministry meets: 

Grades K thru 8 meet for two sessions: October to November, and February to April. Each session is six weeks and conclude with a "Celebrate Me Day." A facilitator meets with five or fewer children in the same grade. Each session is 45 minutes long. The parents are also encouraged to meet together with the coordinator during the children's sessions. Parents would discuss the topic of the week.

Time Commitment:

A variety of stewardship opportunities exist:
Facilitator: Facilitator puts in the classroom time as stated above, plus advance preparation at home, about half an hour. Facilitator needs to attend a one - day workshop.

Coordinator: Coordinator supervises the preparation of the week's session, orders books for sessions, and is responsible for publicity;, also, facilitates parent meeting.

Specific Gifts / Talents Required of Volunteers:

Facilitator needs to have experienced a loss and have worked through his / her grief. A willingness to offer support, understanding and guidance.

Coordinator: the same as the Facilitator
